Jiu-Jitsu │ Wrestling │ Strength & Conditioning

Our environment is everything!

Atlas Grappling is owned and run by Damien and Beth Nitkin. Damien is a 1st degree black belt that has practiced Jiu-Jitsu since 2009 with over a decade of youth and adult teaching experience. Jiu-Jitsu at Atlas Grappling is so much more than a sport to Damien and Beth- it is a way to continually push for self-improvement, an outlet for life's stress, an exercise routine, social time, and a way to be part of a family and community. We are happy to expand our Atlas Grappling family so that more people can experience the benefits that our coach Ranson Shepard and Jiu-Jitsu have brought into our lives.

The gym is a great place to meet new people and get some much-needed social time. Unlike a fitness gym, you spend a substantial amount of time talking to and getting to know your teammates. We regularly host team events, and it’s not uncommon for the team to hang out in the gym before and after class or outside of Atlas Grappling. Whether you are trying class with a friend or solo, you WILL meet some new friends!

Exercise enhances mood, boosts energy, promotes better sleep, combats many health conditions, controls weight, and can improve memory and focus. Jiu-Jitsu is a great workout, but it is also a great mental exercise. Jiu-Jitsu is a complex martial art that involves many “if this, then that” circumstances. Every roll will bring a new challenge, creating mentally stimulating situations every practice.

Jiu-Jitsu and Wrestling are great workouts, but we also have an open weight area available to all members age 14 and up. Our weight area is open for use 9 hours a day, which is perfect for getting a workout in on days when you can't attend regular classes.

As a team Atlas Grappling enters multiple tournaments throughout the year locally and across the USA. Our coaches will help you prepare for however many tournaments you want to do (competing is optional). Come see our Champion’s Wall at the gym where our members share their medals they’ve earned in some of the bigger tournaments!

Our gym IS our family, so we make an extra effort to make Atlas Grappling a family-friendly environment. With our kid’s room visible from the main mat area, our kids can entertain themselves in a safe and enclosed area with WiFi, toys, furniture, Disney, and Netflix (we do not provide childcare). Parents can sit with younger siblings during the kid’s classes and adult members can bring their children during the adult classes.

Level 2 Wrestling Program

Your child will learn technique from instructional breaks with coaches, followed by supervised and assisted time to drill the moves. This class will incorporate live wrestling and positional drills.

Atlas Grappling’s Level 3 Wrestling program allows people 14-years-old to adult to practice together. Coach Canada will teach beginner to advanced techniques to our Level 3 athletes. Practice involves high repetition of wrestling moves at moderate to high intensity. There will be live wrestling involved in this class, and position training.

Learn from other martial arts

This Takedown class is taught by Judo brown belt, Lukas. Lukas teaches techniques and principals from Judo to the Jiu-Jitsu team to help improve our stand-up and takedown game in the gi. This 60-minute class is a great addition to our program and will help you learn proper takedowns and defenses. Combining Wrestling with Coach Canada and Judo with Coach Lukas will help you get a very well-rounded game!

Girls Only! Small Group Class

Women's class is FREE and teaches Jiu-Jitsu fundamentals in a small, female-only, no-stress environment. This is a great way to get some work in with similar-sized teammates, hang out with the ladies, introduce yourself to the sport, and learn self-defense techniques.
